Established in 2003, MG Nutritionals, is a strategic business unit of MGC. It’s mission is to maximise returns, wealth creation and brand equity through the development and global sales of specialised, own brand, health – function, retail foods and ingredients that are supported by science and clinical studies.

Located in Melbourne, MG Nutritionals comprises a management team involved in marketing and sales, business development, research and technical support. The business covers four key areas – bioactive ingredients, specialised powdered formulations, specialist retail brands, and, research and development.

Natra product range

Natra brand bioactive ingredients are all manaufactured within the MGC network and are marketed and sold by MG Nutritionals to food and nutraceutical companies around the world. The products include NatraFerrin lactoferrin, NatraLife colostrum, NatraLife growth factor rich fractions, NatralCal milk calcium, NatraSal milk salt flavour enhancer, and NatraPro specialised milk proteins.

Specialised powder manufacturing facility

MGC has a specialised powder manufacturing facility in Cobram which is used to make a range of nutritional formulations, primarily for infants. MG Nutritionals markets the NatraStart nutritional products for infants, toddlers, and young children. This is sold as a retail product range in China in partnership with the MG China operation in Qingdao.

A range of health platforms

MG Nutritionals has invested in a range of health platforms, including metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular health, bone health, oral health, sports nutrition and anti-microbials. Throughout the years, the division has maintained research projects with a wide range of Australia’s leading research institutions who are active in these areas of study. More recently, the commercialization of the scientific discoveries has been extended into retail brands such as Proform, nutrition and energy formula, and ASCEND sports nutritional products.

Proform, is a highly versatile formulated meal replacement product, designed to provide a balanced nutrition solution to those whose normal dietary intake may be compromised. This includes those recuperating from illness or surgery, elderly people, and individuals with a highly active lifestyle. Proform provides flexible solutions at meals, being suitable for both savoury and sweet recipe ideas. The formulation is recommended by dietitians and health professionals.

ASCEND Proven Sports Proteins provide consumers with an entirely new class of sports protein supplements. These products contain unique proteins which have specific biological functionality that has been validated in human clinical trials.
