Ari Mervis

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

David

Ari joined MG in February 2017 as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Ari commenced his career in South Africa and was previously Managing Director SABMiller, Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Officer, Carlton & United Breweries and was responsible for overseeing operations in China, India, Vietnam, South Korea and Australia.

Ari has over 27 years experience in the beverage industry and held a number of senior management roles with SABMiller, the world’s second largest brewer. He has been Managing Director of businesses in Swaziland, Russia, Asia and Australia.

Ari holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Since 2012 he has been a Non-Executive Director of the Melbourne Business School. 

Alan Tilley

Chief Financial Officer (Interim)

Alan

Alan joined MG in 2016 as Interim Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for leading and enhancing the key business areas of Finance and Information Technology.

Prior to joining MG, Alan spent 10 years at the NRMA Motoring and Service Group and eight years as the Group CFO.  Alan has held a number of senior roles at Brambles Industries Limited, Transfield Pty Limited as well as Price Waterhouse in Australia and Europe.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the UNSW, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in 2014.

Amy Alston

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Amy Alston

Amy joined MG in 2013 and has held the role of General Counsel since October 2015. She became Company Secretary in November 2016.

Prior to joining MG Amy spent nine years as Senior Corporate Counsel at investment bank Deutsche Bank. Her extensive commercial law experience spans 18 years and includes roles working with Standard Bank London and Optus. She started her legal career at law firm Minter Ellison.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA. 

David Mallinson

Executive General Manager Sales & Marketing (Interim)

David

David joined MG in 2013 and has held other senior positions at the co-operative including Chief Executive Officer (Interim) and Executive General Manager Business Operations, with accountability for strategy, Ingredients and Nutritionals and Business Operations which includes Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Environment and Operational Projects.

Prior to this, David was MG’s General Manager Project Management Office and Capital Projects. Before joining MG, David was Fonterra Australia/New Zealand’s Chief Financial Officer for six years, having held various senior roles within the merged business and also held senior roles in Bonlac Foods Ltd and United Milk Tasmania. David has also previously worked for ANZ and Cadbury Schweppes.

David holds a Master of Business Administration from Monash University and completed the Executive Development Program at Stanford University (USA) in 2004. David’s professional memberships include CPA, Fellow of National Institute of Accountants, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. David was also appointed to the Board of Dairy Australia in November 2015.

Chris Diaz

Executive General Manager Operations and Supply Chain

David

Chris joined MG in 2014 and is responsible for Business Operations including Supply Chain, and Logistics, Regional Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Quality and Environment.

Prior to being appointed to his current role, Chris held senior positions including General Manager Manufacturing and Technical Excellence, and Group Technical Manager. Before joining MG, Chris was General Manager Operations at Fonterra Australia. He has also held a number of prominent roles at Foster, Balfours and Goodman Fielder in the areas of manufacturing, technical, continuous improvement and logistics.

Chris holds a Graduate Diploma and Master of Business and Technology from the University of NSW, as well as a Graduate Certificate of Management from Deakin University.  Chris has also completed professional certificates in food management, food processing and lean systems (Lean Operational Excellence).

Bruce Linke

Executive General Manager Procurement and Capital Projects

Bruce

Bruce joined MG in 2015 and oversees procurement as well as the planning and execution of major Capital Projects. Prior to being appointed to his current role, Bruce was the General Manager Major Capital Projects.

Before joining MG, Bruce worked as a consultant to contractors, owners, lenders and law firms advising on project structuring, documentation and delivery issues during feasibility, implementation and close-out phases of the project lifecycle. Bruce was also a Partner in the Finance and Projects team of global law firm DLA Piper advising on engineering and construction projects in Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Bruce also worked as civil engineer and project manager for nine years on various construction and mining projects in Australia and Asia before qualifying as a lawyer.

Bruce holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Construction Management) from Swinburne University. Bruce also has a Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.

Roz Lever

Executive General Manager Health, Safety and People

Roz Lever

Roz joined MG in 2014 and is responsible for Health, Safety and People, including the Wellbeing; Talent and Capability; and Remuneration and Rewards teams.

Prior to being appointed to her current role, Roz held senior positions at MG, including General Manager Health and Safety and Head of Business Partnering Business Operations.

Roz has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource management and 12 years in the dairy industry in various senior HR roles.

Roz has a Bachelor of Social Science Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Swinburne University.

Cameron Smith

Executive General Manager Supplier Relations (Interim)

Cameron Smith

Cameron was appointed as the Executive General Manager, Supplier Relations in late 2016, leading our Field Services, Supplier Services and MG Trading store teams for a six-month period.

Cameron has extensive experience in the dairy industry having held roles with the Department of Agriculture (Victoria), Murray Goulburn and most recently as a Farm Management Consultant with Farmanco Pty Ltd.

As a consultant at Farmanco Pty Ltd, Cameron has provided physical and financial management advice to a large group of farmer clients across Northern Victoria and Southern NSW. Cameron also frequently consults to organisations associated with the dairy industry as well as other service providers.

Cameron has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture, a Diploma of Business (Human Resources) and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology.

Cameron is a past Board Member of Murray Dairy (from 2004 to 2010).
