Ari Mervis

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

David

Ari joined MG in February 2017 as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

Ari commenced his career in South Africa and was previously Managing Director SABMiller, Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Officer, Carlton & United Breweries and was responsible for overseeing operations in China, India, Vietnam, South Korea and Australia.

Ari has over 27 years experience in the beverage industry and held a number of senior management roles with SABMiller, the world’s second largest brewer. He has been Managing Director of businesses in Swaziland, Russia, Asia and Australia.

Ari holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Since 2012 he has been a Non-Executive Director of the Melbourne Business School. 

David Mallinson

Chief Financial Officer

David

David joined MG in 2013 and has held other senior positions at the co-operative including Chief Executive Officer (Interim) and Executive General Manager Business Operations, with accountability for strategy, Ingredients and Nutritionals and Business Operations which includes Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Environment and Operational Projects.

Prior to this, David was MG’s General Manager Project Management Office and Capital Projects. Before joining MG, David was Fonterra Australia/New Zealand’s Chief Financial Officer for six years, having held various senior roles within the merged business and also held senior roles in Bonlac Foods Ltd and United Milk Tasmania. David has also previously worked for ANZ and Cadbury Schweppes.

David holds a Master of Business Administration from Monash University and completed the Executive Development Program at Stanford University (USA) in 2004. David’s professional memberships include CPA, Fellow of National Institute of Accountants, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. David was also appointed to the Board of Dairy Australia in November 2015.

Amy Alston

General Counsel and Corporate Affairs Director

Amy Alston

Amy joined MG in 2013 and has held the role of General Counsel since October 2015. She became Company Secretary in November 2016.

Prior to joining MG Amy spent nine years as Senior Corporate Counsel at investment bank Deutsche Bank. Her extensive commercial law experience spans 18 years and includes roles working with Standard Bank London and Optus. She started her legal career at law firm Minter Ellison.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mike Walsh

Commercial Director

Mike

Mike joined MG in 2017 and is responsible for all domestic and international sales, marketing and innovation teams.

Prior to being appointed to his current role, Mike held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Carlton & United Breweries for the past three years.

Mike has extensive experience in FMCG having been with SABMiller for 23 years across various roles.

Mike has a Bachelor of Commerce from Rhodes University South Africa, a MBA from the Manchester University Business School and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Chris Bowyer

Operations Director 

Chris

Chris joined MG in April 2017 and is responsible for Business Operations including, Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, Quality and Environment, and Engineering.

Prior to his current role, Chris was MG’s General Manager of Manufacturing.

Chris is a supply chain and manufacturing professional with 22 years of Asia Pacific experience within FMCG. He has lived and worked in Melbourne, Suzhou, Beijing, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in senior supply chain and manufacturing positions in Asia for Mondelēz International and Kraft Foods.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Manufacturing) from Swinburne, Graduate Certificate of Management (Technology) from Deakin University and a Master of Business Administration (Technology Management) from La Trobe University.

Anton van Heerden

Supply and Logistics Director

Anton

Anton joined MG in 2017 and is responsible for all inbound and outbound logistics, warehousing, as well as sales and operations planning.

Prior to being appointed to his current role, Anton held the position of VP Logistics and Operational Integration for APAC South at AB InBev.

Anton has extensive experience in both finance and supply chain, including various senior roles at AB InBev.

Anton holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Roz Lever

Human Resources & Safety Director

Roz Lever

Roz joined MG in 2014 and is responsible for Health, Safety and People, including the Wellbeing; Talent and Capability; and Remuneration and Rewards teams.

Prior to being appointed to her current role, Roz held senior positions at MG, including General Manager Health and Safety and Head of Business Partnering Business Operations.

Roz has over 15 years’ experience in Human Resource management and 12 years in the dairy industry in various senior HR roles.

Roz has a Bachelor of Social Science Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Swinburne University.
