Our vendors are encouraged to trade with us on the Ariba Network.

The SAP Ariba Network provides vendors with a secure and simple way to do business with us. Vendors are encouraged to utilise the streamlined e-commerce system and take advantage of the paperless, cloud-based environment. By joining the SAP Ariba Network we can both share in a number of benefits such as:

  • improved collaboration through the market engagement and contract process;
  • opportunity to create and utilise catalogue structures;
  • visibility of purchase orders, shipping and invoice status;
  • a greater level of accuracy and straight-through processing of purchase orders and invoices; and
  • more efficient payment processing.

What is Ariba?

Ariba Network is the world’s largest business commerce network. Ariba allows us to manage our invoicing and payment processes using a safe and transparent system and share the benefits with our vendors.

Is it mandatory for vendors to sign up to Ariba?

No, however it is MG’s preferred way of doing business and we are encouraging all of our vendors to continue their trading relationship with us using the Ariba Network.

If I already have an Ariba account, do I need to create another one?

No. You can contact Ariba to link to your pre-existing account to establish a trading relationship with MG.

Are there any fees associated with using Ariba?

There is no cost to a vendor until they cross both the document and dollar amount fee-paying transaction thresholds. Once that happens vendors will incur Ariba Network Supplier Membership Program fees (SMP).

In other words:

Vendors that send fewer than five documents or less than $50,000 in annual transaction volumes, per customer relationship, will incur no fees.

Vendors that send more than five documents and spend greater than $50,000 in annual transaction volumes, per customer relationship, will attract Ariba Network supplier subscription fees.

What counts as a document on the Ariba Network?

Generally, the Ariba Network counts just one of the documents in a standard PO/Invoice transaction, to avoid double counting documents for the same transaction.
